Spring, summer, or
fall, a cruise on the 86-foot Schooner Appledore - the largest vessel offering
short daysails out of Camden Harbor - is the very best way to experience the coast of
Maine.
The Appledore sails four times a day, seven days a week, past evergreen
islands and picturesque lighthouses. We routinely see seals, osprey, eagles and porpoises
on our two-hour sightseeing daysail adventures. Watch lobstermen haul their traps. Enjoy
the majestic vistas of the coastal mountains and glorious sunsets.
The Appledore departs from and returns to Bayview Landing at the heart
of Camden Harbor. The Appledore has an abundance of comfortable seating, plus a
broad deck you can stroll without ever having to duck the rigging. You are welcome to
stretch out and relax, help raise the sails or take a turn at the wheel and experience
first-hand the thrill of sailing a tall ship.
The Appledore is a traditional wooden windjammer that was designed for
adventure. Seaworthy and stable, she was built in Maine in 1978. She has sailed around the
world, and her imagination stirring voyages have been chronicled in two books.
